This collection started from a series of ten black and white paintings of abstract motifs, marks, and organic shapes. The painted motifs were used to create a collection of black and white patterns. Here is a sample of some of the patterns applied to some dishware.
I liked the bold feel of the all black and white version, but I did wonder how it would look in a limited colour palette with textures applied to fills and backgrounds. I settled on a blue and green colour palette with some optional deep orange shades. Here are three of the recoloured patterns using the blue and green shades.
The designs certainly look different in the blue and green colour palette! Both versions are available for purchase and licensing.
